چکیده
Abstract Organic photovoltaics (PV) is an energy-harvesting technology that offers many advantages, such as flexibility, low weight and cost, well environmentally benign materials manufacturing techniques. Despite growth of power conversion efficiencies to around 19 % in the last years, organic PVs still lag behind inorganic PV technologies, mainly due high losses open-circuit voltage. Understanding improving open circuit voltage solar cells challenging, it controlled by properties a donor-acceptor interface where optical excitations are separated into charge carriers. Here, we provide electrostatic model rough test experimentally on small molecule systems. The provides concise relationships between voltage, photovoltaic gap, charge-transfer state energy, interfacial morphology. In particular, show bias generated across reduces gap. This negative influence can, however, be circumvented adjusting morphology interface.

Open-circuit voltage (VOC) in organic solar cells (OSCs) is currently still not well-understood. A generally acceptable view is that VOC is mainly determined by the energy level offset between donor and acceptor materials. Recently in ternary blend OSCs, VOC is found to be dependent on the blend composition. But contrary to expectation, this dependence is not a simple linear relationship, which...

The effect of illumination intensity and temperature on open circuit voltage Voc in organic photovoltaic devices has been investigated. Voc is observed to saturate at high illumination intensities. The illuminated J-V characteristics at different intensities intersect the dark characteristic at a single point. This intersection point is shown to be equal to the built-in voltage Vbi in the sampl...

A new small molecule named DTBTF with thiobarbituric acid as a terminal group was designed and synthesized as an acceptor for organic photovoltaic applications. DTBTF exhibits strong absorption in the visible region, and a relatively high lying LUMO energy level (-3.62 eV). All-small-molecule organic solar cells based on DR3TSBDT:DTBTF blend films show a considerable PCE of 3.84% with a high V(...
